Sorry - Because of a heavy work load, at this time I am only taking in watches that must be returned to me under my repair warranty. Check back after the February 22nd 2018.

I take a limited number of watches in for repair, and by mail only. There are some watches that I cannot acquire parts for, or that are too worn out to repair, so please call me, Stephen Thomas at 503- 239-1859, before sending me any watch for repair. Calling me in person, or leaving a message on my answering machine, is the most efficient method for me. If you prefer to e-mail, please include your phone number. When sending me a watch, please complete and enclose the Sending Watch Form from my web site, even if you have sent me the watch for repair before. The link is below and says Sending Your Watch. When e-mailing turn off your spam blocker so my reply will get through.

I do not sell parts, or do appraisals. Please do not ask.

Hi Stephen,

Just wanted to let you know I received my Speedmaster last week and you have done an amazing job. I know it was difficult to find parts since its an older model so Thanks for taking the time to locate them.

You are the Master and I would highly recommend you to anyone that is looking for quality work on their watches.

Thanks Again

Hello Stephen.

I picked the watch up from the post office on Monday. It looks great and is running great. It needed a lot of work and parts that were difficult to find. But hey, I'm 50 now myself and I can relate.

Thank you for sticking with the project and for being such a straight shooter. I'd recommend you to anyone.

I just wanted to tell you again how pleased I am with my Omega.  I set the time on the 13th, matching it with the online NBS clock and checking it a week later, the Omega is only a couple of seconds fast.  I’ve never had it run as accurate as it is now.  You really nailed it!
Do you think that changing out the main spring was a contributing factor in this improvement?  Or perhaps in conjunction with the other things you did?  I am simply amazed at the accuracy.  I’m getting better than COSC accuracy (-4/+6 sec/day) on a non-COSC mechanical movement.

Good morning Stephen -
Just a quick e-mail to let you know how pleased I am with the service you performed on my Speedmaster! I've been wearing it daily for the past couple of weeks and still can't stop staring at it!
Thanks again,

Received my watch back today. Thank you. It looks like new and I trust will run the same. Your business plan is an operation in trust. Old fashioned and admirable for that alone but accompanied with a great result I have no hesitation in recommending you. Thank you again (...and light years faster than shipping to the manufacturer. )

Hi Stephen,

I received the watch back and I must say that you have done a terrific job for me. Your price was very fair and I am very pleased with the watch - it runs perfectly and I have no qualms in saying that should I need further work on any of my watches, I'll be sure to contact you.

Thanks and regards,

Thanks again for repairing my father's cherished 1960 Omega Seamaster Deville. I did not want to trust its repairs to a nameless technician at some "service center". Based on past experience, I knew that the watch would be correctly and expertly repaired for a very fair price.
In a world filled with indifferent service providers, it is always a delight to do business with a man of integrity and quiet professionalism. Well done!
Thanks, Thad

Dear Stephen,

Earlier in the week I received the watch.

I am very pleased with the overall work with the watch, and I recognize that not any watchmaker works with chronographs. The before and after condition is incredible reason why I'm including a photo.

Thank you for the time and care invested in this watch. You just have earned another loyal customer.

Best regards.

Dear Oscar,
Your Omega Speedmaster Professional Chrono watch will be posted out to you this Friday afternoon by registered insured mail.
Please add this to your Omega Testimonial file:

I inherited my Omega Seamaster from my father, who had purchased it in 1953.
Unfortunately, on a recent vacation I dropped and it struck the floor on the crown, after
which it was impossible to set the watch. I was quoted an absurd price for repairs by
Omega, so I went online and found Quality Watch Repair. Steve makes the entire repair
process simple, quick, and very fairly priced. The watch is back on my wrist as I write,
and its running perfectly. In a perfect world, all businesses would give this kind of
customer service. The world isnt perfect, but QWR is doing its part. Its been a
pleasure to deal with them.

I returned home from an overseas trip 2 weeks ago to find a notice from the postal
service that they had a package from you containing my watch. I was able to retrieve it
the next day and I have been wearing it ever since.
The watch is performing well and looks wonderful. While no watch can ever be made to
look and feel new after 42 years of nearly constant wear, my Omega looks terrific. You
have done a great service to my Old Friend and I am indebted to you for bringing her back
to life again.
When my favorite sister gave me this watch as my college graduation gift all those many
years ago I thought I valued it very much. Now it seems all the more wonderful.
Thank you for doing such a great job on repairing my most treasured piece of jewelry. I
will be happy to provide you with testimonials or references should you want them. You
have certainly earned my trust and confidence.

Stephen, you did a spectacular job cleaning, oiling, and restoring my 1948 Omega
Seamaster Automatic. When I opened the box and took it out, I was absolutely delighted!
it seemed like I received a brand new watch--it's working perfectly.

Thank you,

Hi Stephen
Sorry for the delayed feedback for my watch repair and I have been traveling.

The watch repair and rebuild is way above expectations. What a great job and many thanks. It is all working fine and if there are any issues I'll be sure and get back.

I cant begin to thank you for promptness and the wonderful work you did in repairing my Omega Constellation Megaquartz and returning it to me in running condition. As I told  you when I first sent the watch to you to be checked out, the watch had been in my wifes jewelry case for over 30 years because of a broken watchband. I have praised your work to friends and relatives,  while giving them the URL of your internet site. You a wonderful example of the kind of craftsman I remember from my youth.

Dear Stephen

I am writing to let you know that I received the Omega Dynamic that you cleaned and repaired.  Thank you for your work, which was excellent, as well as the prompt service.  The watch is operating perfectly.

Hi, Stephen,
I received my husband’s watch yesterday via registered USPS mail.  I will admit to some nervousness as I opened the box, this being my first experience with repairing the watch and with YOU!  My Swiss husband at my side, we, together, sat stunned and incredulous at the quality of the restoration of his watch.  If you remember, this watch was given to my husband by his, now deceased mother, on the occasion of his Matura in Zuerich, Switzerland.  That was 30 years ago.  The watch was deemed to be at the practical end of its life by the Swiss watchmakers who my husband consulted when the watch failed mechanically.  Being a (typically tenacious?) American, I asked my husband for permission to bring the watch back to NY with me when I left Zuerich in February.  I felt that, if there were any hope for tender loving care of this sentimental timepiece and, perhaps, a bit of luck, it would be in the States where second hand or recycled or left-to-die goods are more often than not still valued and deemed worthy of a second (or third or tenth) chance.
Every step of this transaction with you, Stephen, from the advice, the service, the communication, the timeliness of the work to the ultimate quality of the result has been quientessentially professional.  I could not be happier!  Parenthetically, it is also a delight that my husband is having to admit that there are (still?) things that just work better in the U.S. . . .!  This, from a pretty critical Swiss!  Kudos to you, Stephen!
In closing, thank you again for putting a 30 year watch back on a 50 year old wrist . . .and the watch looks brand new (even if the man and his wife don’t . . .!).

As I mentioned tonight, my Omega Speedmaster needed repair and I could not find a
local who could work on the watch. Searching net web I found Quality Watch Repair and
after some serious thought I sent my watch which has been my steady companion for over
45 years. My Speed Master did not walk on the Moon but was given to me by one who did and
I treasure it and someday hope my son does too. Anyway, I sent the watch and crossed my
fingers. The transaction went EXACTLY as they said. The cost was as they said and a real
bargain. The quality of the repair was excellent.... The watch never worked better nor
looked better. If your Omega needs work, I would highly recommend Quality Watch Repair at

I just wanted to thank you. My Omega looks amazing and is running
even better. I really appreciate the work you have done and look
forward to sending more watches your way.

Thank you,

Thank you for the tremendous restoration to my Omega Seamaster Professional.  With the repairs and cosmetic restoration it looks like a new watch.

It has been over 6 years since you repaired my Omega Speedmaster and I wanted to let you know it is still working as good today as it did the day I got it back from you. I cannot believe how much this watch has gone up in value over time. As time passes it makes me appreciate the investment I spent to have you bring it back to optimum operating and visual condition. Hi Stephen,

Just a quick note to let you know that my Speedmaster has never looked and run better,
with the possible exception of when I bought it new in Schaffhausen 15 years ago. Even
then, I think it keeps better time now...

Thanks for taking care of my watch. Your attention to quality and detail are world-class,
which has earned you a customer for life.

Best regards,

The watch arrived safely and for a 60 year old watch, it looks brand
new!  I appreciate the manner in which you do business.  You emailed me
as soon as you received the watch, you diagnosed the problem in a couple
of days and gave me an estimate of the cost of the essential repairs.
You also suggested some other things that could be done such as
replacing the crystal, the crown and a complete cleaning, but did not
try to "sell me" on those services.

Your promptness, professionalism and honesty were greatly appreciated
and it has been a pleasure doing business with you.  If, in the future,
my watch is again in need of repairs, I will certainly send it to you
for service.

Thanks again for a job well done!

With kindest regards,

Bob Clark

Hello Mr Thomas,

I wanted to let you know I received my Omega watch
back a few days ago. It looks and works great.
I've been tracking its accuracy and estimate it's now
gaining only 1-3 seconds per day. This outcome is
most impressive and beyond my expectations for this
vintage automatic watch (although Omega might disagree
with my previous expectations).
I got my blue-sky wish of a 30+ year-old vintage watch
I can trust will keep accurate time, appealing, with
high sentimental value, and for a reasonable price.
Your communication with me was excellent also. Thanks
much for your help making this a reality.

Warm Regards,

Dear Javier,

Thank you so much for your apology - it is rare that a
customer wouldadmit to making an honest mistake, which
is what this was. And pleasedon't worry - you owe me
nothing. Normally, when a customer must returna watch
to me under warranty, assuming that something has gone
wrongwith my repair, I refund their postage. Since I
did not refund yours,we are even. And your kind
apology is worth much more than the cost ofany
additional diagnosis.

You have been a patient, considerate, and reasonable
customer to workwith, and I would be happy to do any
watch repairs you may send my wayin the future.

Thanks again and best regards,

Dear Javier,I am returning your Omega Automatic
watch to you thisafternoon byregistered insured mail.
There isabsolutely nothing wrong with thewatch, and
all of itsnormal functions are intact and in fine
workingorder. This particular watch does not possess a
quick dateset functionthat is activated by turning the
handscounterclockwise, and as far asI can tell, it
neverdid have one. Although this function does
exist,it isactivated by pulling the crown out all the
way to thethirdclick. This will cause the date to
advance by oneday each time it isperformed. Thank

Dear Stephen,

I recently found the letter you sent with the watches when they were returned to me. You had asked if I was satisfied with the repairs.

The answer is a resounding yes!

I had sent you two watches. A Seiko quartz that was a long time keepsake and also an Omega Seamaster that had just quit working. That one was extra special since it was a gift form my parents long ago. They are working today as if they were new, out of the box.

The work was done flawlessly, and all the information you showed on your web site was totally accurate and made for a very safe and secure process.

The watches are working wonderfully today and I often think of how lucky I was to find your web site. You are truly a craftsman and someone I would recommend to anyone. Thank you for your fine work and excellent business and personal ethics.
